For credit institutions specifically, a consistent requirement set forth in the Resolution is to reduce costs, stabilize interest rates and improve credit quality. Furthermore, they are tasked with directing capital flows toward production and business activities, priority sectors, key growth drivers and major projects that support socio-economic development. In line with the spirit of the Resolution, credit expansion in 2026 should not only increase in scale but also be allocated more effectively prioritizing sectors that generate added value and exert a positive, far-reaching impact on overall growth.

Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Pham Thanh Ha stated that in 2026, the State Bank will continue to manage credit in alignment with macroeconomic developments, ensuring the economy’s capital needs are met; the central bank will direct credit institutions to focus capital on production, business activities, priority sectors, and key growth drivers in line with the Government’s policy, at the same time exercising strict control over credit in high-risk areas to safeguard the operational safety of the banking system.

Mr. Pham Thanh Ha directed that, in line with this orientation, institutions should continue to restructure capital flows by focusing on production, business activities, priority sectors and the key drivers of economic growth.

Standing out among banks that closely align with Government policies and the directives of the State Bank of Vietnam, Agribank has proactively and flexibly provided credit to the economy to support production and business activities. The bank has been focusing on key growth drivers, namely consumption, exports and investment, while prioritizing strategic sectors such as agriculture, high technology, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and supporting industries.

Specifically, over the recent period, Agribank has implemented a range of solutions and credit packages offering various levels of support to a diverse customer base. Notably, this includes a credit program with a total scale of 500 trillion VND and 100 million USD, featuring interest rates 1-2.5% per annum lower than standard rates, designed to encourage and assist both individual and corporate clients in their use of capital.

In addition, the bank offers programs such as “Long-term Capital for Sustainable Business”, designed to support clients in scaling up their operations, investing in facilities, machinery, and equipment, and enhancing overall business efficiency. Up to now, the total loan volume has reached over VND 58.2 trillion, serving more than 33,000 clients, with an outstanding loan balance of nearly VND 43.8 trillion.

Adhering closely to the Government’s orientations, guidelines and policies

It can be said that, beyond focusing on business operations, which serve as a foundation for the “agriculture, farmers, and rural areas” sector and a driving force for the development of the business community, Agribank consistently takes the lead in implementing programs, initiatives, and policies in line with the directives of the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam. The development of strategic transport infrastructure has been identified by the Party and the State as a key breakthrough, one that serves to generate new growth momentum, enhance the economy’s competitiveness, and strengthen regional connectivity. In line with the directives and guidance of the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam, Agribank has, over the past few years, concentrated its resources and actively supported numerous major national transport infrastructure projects.

Regarding its credit operations, Agribank pursues selective growth, prioritizing the allocation of capital toward production and business activities, the agricultural and rural sectors, key priority areas, the green economy and infrastructure projects with significant spillover effects; at the same time, the bank continues to implement solutions to support customers in boosting their production and business operations… Beyond its positive business results, Agribank continues to affirm its role as a key commercial bank in investing in the development of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. It effectively implements the guidelines and policies of the Party, the State and the State Bank of Vietnam regarding support for production and business activities, thereby contributing to macroeconomic stability, inflation control, economic growth and the assurance of social welfare.

Over nearly four decades of growth and development, Agribank’s credit offerings extended to both corporate and individual clients represent far more than mere figures. They embody the bank’s steadfast commitment and firm affirmation of its mission: to stand alongside the people, the business community and the national economy, while joining hands with the Government in advancing social welfare./.
