(DTTG) - Abstract: New religious phenomena have long existed throughout human history including in Vietnam and have become an inevitable aspect of social development. All religions existing today originated as new religious phenomena; they reflect the psychological and cognitive responses of people to the issues posed by life. In recent times, a wide range of new religious phenomena including various religious movements and groups (collectively referred to as “new religious phenomena”) have emerged in Vietnam. Varying in name and origin, these groups coexist alongside traditional religions and belief systems; their diverse and complex activities have impacted the lives of local residents and social security in certain localities. Therefore, identifying and classifying the activities of these phenomena is a crucial step toward proposing appropriate management solutions, aiming to both uphold citizens’ freedom of belief and religion and ensure a stable environment for religious and spiritual practices.
