In recent years, recognizing the demand for experiential tourism, the people of Vinh Hai commune have developed tourism products such as visiting vineyards combined with selling fresh grapes and grape syrup… Currently, the entire commune has over 270 hectares of vineyards, including a large scale vineyard model covering nearly 30 hectares. Under the cool shade of the grapevines, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang from Hanoi excitedly shared that she was immediately captivated by the airy and refreshing atmosphere upon entering the vineyard. What I enjoy most is being able to admire and personally select and cut the most beautiful bunches of grapes to give as gifts to family and friends. The grapes are very cheap. The vineyard owner is friendly, doesn’t pester or pressure you and doesn't charge an entrance fee. Tourists are free to take souvenir photos without any time limit”.
Developing a unique fruit crop combined with a marine ecotourism model is an innovative approach by the Party Committee, government and people of Vinh Hai commune to attract tourists and create new livelihoods with high incomes, contributing to improving the lives of local people and building an image of a friendly and interesting tourist destination in Khanh Hoa province.
Vinh Hy Bay is located within the marine protected area of Nui Chua National Park, a key tourist destination of the province. The coastal road leading to Vinh Hy is breathtakingly beautiful, with the pristine beauty of the blue sea, white sand, golden sunshine on one side and the towering, verdant hills and mountains hidden beneath the forest canopy of the World Biosphere Reserve on the other. Within the core area of Nui Chua National Park are two villages, Cau Gay and Da Hang, inhabited entirely by the Raglay ethnic group - an ethnic group with a unique culture closely linked to the environmental conditions of the slash-and-burn agriculture in the South Central region.
Mr. Cao Van Den, Party Secretary, Village Head, a respected villager from Cau Gay said that after Nui Chua Mountain was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO (September 2021), the authorities at all levels and the National Park have implemented many solutions to help the Raglay people transition their livelihoods. From relying on forest products as before, the people have now shifted to participating in ecotourism models, making jewelry from forest seeds; joining guide groups, carrying luggage for tourists or engaging in traditional crafts such as brewing rice wine, making crossbows, crafting Chapi musical instruments, performing the Ma La dance… all aimed at promoting the unique cultural identity of their ethnic group. The Raglay people all hope to transform this place into a model combining biodiversity conservation with the cultural values of their ethnic group, contributing to making Vinh Hai an attractive destination for tourists from all over the world./.
