Abtract: Vietnam is a multi-religious country. Throughout the nation's history, religions have made contributions in various areas, most notably to culture and ethics. Cultural and religious-ethical values have contributed to shaping the cultural identity of the Vietnamese nation. The contribution of religion throughout various historical periods has depended heavily on the State’s perspective and approach toward religion, as well as the attitudes of the religious communities themselves.

Abstract: The Khmer people belong to the Mon-Khmer language group and have long inhabited the Southern region of Vietnam, possessing a rich and diverse traditional culture with many distinctive values. Among these, agricultural rituals play a central role in the cultural and spiritual life of the Khmer people in the South (Vietnam), continuing to hold significant positive value for community life today. These rituals reflect the dialectical relationship between humans and nature in the context of wet rice production and are an important way to strengthen social structure, maintain cultural identity, as well as educate community ethics. The article focuses on analyzing the identity and value of agricultural rituals of the Khmer people in the South and some solutions to preserve and promote them in the current context of integration and socio-economic change.

Abstract: The Theravada Buddhist cultural heritage of the Khmer community in Southern Vietnam constitutes a valuable heritage system that exerts a profound influence on the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha as a whole and more specifically on the region’s monks, nuns, lay Buddhists and local residents. Throughout the history of the Khmer people’s settlement, Theravada Buddhism has demonstrated teachings and cultural traits that align with the spiritual life of the local community. Consequently, the survival and development of Theravada Buddhism have been inextricably intertwined, deeply permeating the mindset, practices, and culture of the Khmer community. Given the value system of Theravada Buddhism, preserving and promoting this cultural heritage holds immense significance for the development of Vietnam’s religious landscape and the lives of its people.

Abstract: The Khmer are an ethnic group belonging to the Mon-Khmer language family, who have long resided in Southern Vietnam and possess a rich and diverse traditional culture with many unique values. Among these, agricultural rituals play a central role in the cultural and religious life of the Khmer people in Southern Vietnam, today still hold many positive values for community life. These rituals reflect the dialectical relationship between humans and nature in the context of rice cultivation and are an important method for strengthening social structure, maintaining cultural identity and educating community morality. This article focuses on analyzing the identity and value of Khmer agricultural rituals in Southern Vietnam and some solutions for their preservation and promotion in the context of current socio-economic integration and transformation.
